To go on a Zambia Safari is to explore an adventurer’s Africa. Wild, untamed, and an untouched wilderness!
Adventure safaris are a big thing in Zambia. It is particularly famous for its walking safaris, especially in the South and North Luangwa National Parks. Imagine the exhilaration of tracking a lion on foot on a Zambia Safari, without a single sign of human civilization to be found! The highly trained guides take you through a vast stretch of wilderness where close encounters with buffalo, leopard, lion, and elephant are an everyday occurrence. Africa’s largest national park, Kafue, offers incredible walking safaris and boat trips along the forest-lined Kafue river. The highlight of the Zambia Safari in the Lower Zambezi National Park is canoeing on the Zambezi river, strewn with hippos, crocs, and frolicking elephants. It is amazing how much wildlife you get to see from the water without even trying! Adventurous safari-goers can choose between game drives, night drives, walking safaris, canoe safaris, boat cruises, and tiger fishing safaris. Finally, Zambia’s most famous tourist attraction is Victoria Falls, one of the world’s seven natural wonders. The mile-wide waterfall is utterly spectacular and an unmissable sight.
There are no big hotels in the Zambian parks. All lodges are small and exclusive, and very few are part of a chain or a group. Most are owned by individuals who genuinely care.
Here, guides need to qualify for driving and walking safaris. The people who run these camps are often devoted to the park and its wildlife.
