At the crossroads between Europe and Asia, Turkey is a fascinating country. The empires of Greeks, Persians, Romans, Byzantine, and Ottoman have left their indelible marks on Turkey in its world-famous historical monuments, on its architecture and religion.

Diverse landscapes like white-capped mountains, vineyards, and olive groves dot the hillside, crystal clear ocean waters of the Aegean Coast, lunar-like landscape of Cappadocia with ‘fairy chimneys’ of Goreme, compete for attention. A melting pot of cultures with a heavy sprinkling of ancient traditions, a vast array of activities, and a gastronomical paradise for the foodies, make Turkey a treat to visit!

Why travel:

History & Culture: Stunning architectural masterpieces of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires bring out the explorer in most people. Turkey provides a glimpse into the past, from the majestic Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque in Istanbul to historical ruins from ancient civilizations. Visit the Troy and Ephesus cities, stone heads atop Mt. Nemrut, and Gobleki Tepi, a Neolithic site 6,500 years older than Stonehenge.

Natural Wonders: Turkey’s one-of-a-kind natural landscapes cannot be found anywhere else on the planet. The rural region of Cappadocia is dotted with remote caves and underground cities carved out of soft volcanic rock, and the famous ‘fairy chimneys’ of Goreme make otherworldly views. Pamukkale’s thermal springs on sparkling white travertine terraces and Hierapolis, an ancient Roman spa city, are definitely worth a trip.

Beautiful Beaches: Known as one of the best coastlines in Europe, The Aegean Coast boasts clear azure waters, pristine sandy shores, secluded coves, and thousands of miles of shoreline stretching across Bodrum, Antalya, Izmir, and Fethiye. We’d recommend enjoying a day on a luxury gulet, stopping off on the beautiful coves, rustic fishing hamlets, and enjoying incredible snorkeling.

Istanbul: One of the world’s great cities, Istanbul is the only city in the world that spans two continents. Historical buildings like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Hippodrome are some of the most impressive and important buildings ever constructed. Explore beautiful museums, shop at the colorful grand bazaar and the spice market, cruise the Bosphorus river, and try delicious food.

Food: Turkey’s 1300-year-old traditional cuisine is a flavorful blend of Middle Eastern, European, Asian, and African influences. Try different types of freshly baked breads like simit (Turkish bagel) or lahmacun (Turkish pizza), CORBA- a delicious soup, kofte-meatballs, kababs, lass of çay and baklava for dessert.
