Dubai

Watch glorious sunsets from the tallest structure in the world, ski at a ski resort on a mountain inside a shopping mall, dine at the world’s only 7-star hotel, explore the opulent car collection of an eccentric Sheikh housed in his own private pyramid, or stay at a preposterously luxurious hotel with gold-plated iPads, Rolls Royce chauffeurs, and a staff that trains by watching “Downton Abbey!”

Dubai is a land of unusual attractions, a fascinating journey from being a small Bedouin village to the largest oil supplier. Today, it is a global entertainment hub that offers incredible options for tourists to experience new and exciting things. A melting pot of cultures, ex-pats from over 200 countries, make 85% of Dubai’s population, making it a truly cosmopolitan city.

Why travel:

World’s most unique things to do: A city of world records, Dubai has attractions that no other city in the world does. Observe stunning sunsets from Burj Khalifa’s observation deck on its 144th floor. Sky-dive over The Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest man-made islands. Ski-in the indoor ski park or spend a day at the world’s largest indoor amusement park. Enjoy 45 million flowers at Dubai miracle garden, the world’s largest natural flower garden. And these are just a few things!!

Shopping: Dubai is the world’s most exotic shopping destination with hundreds of malls and legendary souks. The world’s second-largest mall, the Dubai mall, has 1200 shops, an indoor zoo, and a hotel. Traditional markets or souks are a must-visit. Dubai Gold Souk is a fascinating place with hundreds of retailers offering a huge jewelry selection made from gold, silver, diamonds, and other precious metals and stones. No matter what you are looking for, there is a souk for it. Visit Spice souk, perfume souk, textile souk, and souks that see artisanal crafts, organic produce, and bespoke gold and diamond jewelry.

Desert Safari: There is nothing like a Dubai desert safari experience. Experience the Bedouin era with a touch of luxury and royalty. Take a four-wheel-drive to an authentic campsite in the middle of the desert with traditional dances, cuisine, and entertainment.

When to go:

Best time to visit: November through March. Pleasant day temperature and slightly cooler evenings are a perfect time for outdoor activities. May, September and October are not as hot as the summer months and not as crowded.

High Season: November through March. January is the busiest month due to the Dubai shopping festival.

Low Season: June through August. Summer in Dubai is unbearably hot, and most of the time is likely to be spent rushing between air-conditioned buildings. Ramadan, the fasting month, falls around May or June when eating, drinking, and smoking in public is strictly banned during daylight.
